A Flying Time Capsule! This original straight-tail Cessna-172 is a well-maintained, exceptionally nice airplane for its vintage. The Annual Inspection was just completed—good to March 2025. A good time-builder hangered & flown in a salt-free environment, with a smooth running, rugged, six-cylinder Continental O-300A, 145 horsepower engine. Great “time builder” for an aspiring professional pilot! An initial minimum investment—pay only for gas, maintenance, and instructor—get your ratings—& sell it in a couple of years at perhaps for more than what you paid for it! This well-maintained 1956 classic Cessna 172 comes equipped with several upgrades including Cleveland Brakes, firewall-mounted Airwolf oil filter (a value of some $1,200), LED lighting, a “Plane Power Seven” 50 amp alternator, a single piece tinted windshield & electric starter. Seat rails and flap tracks are very good, fuselage & wings are zinc chromated. Good, resilient paint (blue/white) with a fresh & clean interior, newly reupholstered front seats both having “Y-style” shoulder harnesses, good side panels & rear seats, nice headliner & carpet. In 2012 at TACH 613.2, an extensive inspection was conducted of the entire airplane often referred to as IRAN (Inspect and Repair As Necessary), returning the airplane to an almost new condition! Wind damage, while on the ground, reportedly resulted in the replacement of the right wing, otherwise never damaged. This “first-edition” Cessna 172 is an attractive combination of vintage charm & contemporary functionality, making it an excellent choice for your flying needs. Become a member of the “Straight–Tail” fan club & enjoy the benefits of an airplane built to fly, built to last, to develop essential aviation skills—and to maintain enduring value.
